Member Registration Guide

Before you register online on RAF-Comrade-Contact please make sure you have a valid RAF Association membership number. If you have a service number you can enter this but it is not compulsory. Non-members of The RAF Association may enter the site and follow the instructions (See stage 2).

You will need to enter your rank on leaving the RAF or as it is currently; the year you enlisted; when you were discharged; your service history – (including your Squadron/Unit/Section); the stations where you served and also the dates you were there.

Don’t worry if you don’t have all your service history to hand as this can easily be added to or be changed once you have registered. Please note all titles with a red astrix next to them are compulsory and need to be completed. If you omit to fill these in, your registration will not be completed and an error message will be shown.

The compulsory data required is:

RAFA Membership number – the last 4, 5 or 6 digits of your membership number.
A valid Email Address (this will be your username for the future)
Your Password – you can have anything you deem appropriate
Your First Name
Your Surname
Your Initials (if you have any)
Your Gender
Your Country of Residence

Stage 1 - Registering

Please enter your email address and choose a password
Press enter

Please note: All future correspondences with RAF-Comrade-Contact will be through this email address so please ensure it is a valid email address. Your password can be something you find easy to remember.

Stage 2 - Member or Non Member Choice

Once your registration details have been entered you will be redirected to a page which will ask you if you are a Member of the RAF Association or not. If you are a member and have a valid RAF membership number click on the button MEMBER
(if you have chosen this option go to stage 3).

If you don’t have a valid membership number but would like to join The RAF Association and be part of RAF-Comrade-Contact, please click the NON MEMBER button (see stage 4 below).

Stage 3 – RAFA Members Area

Please take time to fill in the details below.

Enter your RAF Association membership number – this is compulsory
(the last 4, 5 or 6 digits).
Enter your Service Number – this is not compulsory however, if entered, it will enhance and assist in personnel searches.
Enter your personal details.

Please note: that your personal details can be changed at any time once you have registered. Changes to your email address (which is your site username) and password can also be changed later if necessary.
Service History

Please note: this part of the form is interactive. You will notice that only 1st location served with is available to fill in. Once you have filled this in using the field boxes available, please tick the small box below that reads Tick to add another history then hit “add”. Once you have ticked this box press ADD. This will automatically bring in the 2nd Location Served with and you will be able to enter further details.
Keep adding the Location Served with until you have entered your complete service history with the RAF. Remember, this can always be added to at a later date if you don’t have all the details to hand.

If the station you were at is not on the drop down list, please click on the - add new Station button. This will allow us to add the new station into the database – this could take a few days as we need to verify the suggested station.
Add your rank on leaving the RAF or current rank, the year you enlisted and the year you were discharged.

Finally, to help us keep you updated on current RAF news and RAF Association information, please complete the RAFA Marketing section.

Once you have completed the form (make sure all compulsory fields are filled in) then please press the Register button.

Your details will then be verified and you will be sent an email to confirm your RAF-Comrade-Contact membership is complete. Please note this may take up to five working days. You will then be able to use the site freely.

Stage 4 – Non RAFA Members Area

Enter your Service Number – this is not compulsory however, if entered, it will enhance and assist in personnel searches.
Enter your personal details.

Please note: that your personal details can be changed at any time once you have registered. Changes to your email address (which is your site username) and password can also be changed later if necessary.
Finally, to help us keep you updated on current RAF news and RAF Association information, please complete the RAFA Marketing section. Press the Join button.

Once you have completed the membership form, this will automatically be sent to the RAF Association and a member of the Recruitment team will contact you to process your application.
